CHRIS HOOPES, Lead GAME DEveloper & designer

Chris is senior developer and team lead who strives to improve technology workflows and leverage modern game development tools. He brings a passion for game design, children's health, and education to BioStream.

Before BioStream, Chris had been a web and app developer for over a decade serving clients such as Comcast and Jefferson Hospital. Most recently, he had worked at Slate as senior architect in charge of building out their open-source education platform. These tools are used by schools such as Science Leadership Academy, Building21, and Matchbook.

Chris also co-owns the game studio Ghost Crab Games and is responsible for game design and programming. Besides being active in the Philadelphia and Delaware game development community, Ghost Crab has also released Drive to Hell, Bungle!, and Stick & Move across a wide range of platforms and devices. The studio is currently working on Hastilude, a muiltiplayer game targeted for release on Steam and modern consoles.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Delaware. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, creating video games, skiing, spending time with his pets, and smoking meat.
